1. Controller

The controller responsible for processing personal data on this website is Sven Petersen. The postal address is provided in the Imprint. You can contact the controller at mail@svenpetersen.net.

2. Website access and server logs

When you access this website, the hosting infrastructure may automatically process technical connection data. This can include your IP address, the date and time of the request, the requested page or file, the referring page, browser and operating-system information, and the response status.

This processing is necessary to deliver the website, maintain reliable operation, and protect it against abuse. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interests are secure, stable website operation and the investigation of technical or security incidents. Log data is deleted when it is no longer required for these purposes, unless a longer period is required by law or needed to investigate a specific incident.

3. Contact form and email inquiries

If you use the contact form, the website processes the name, email address, optional subject, and message you provide. The submission is sent by the website server to mail@svenpetersen.net. The same principles apply when you contact me directly by email.

The data is used only to review and respond to your inquiry and to carry out any requested pre-contractual steps. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR where the inquiry concerns a potential or existing contract. For other inquiries, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on the legitimate interest in responding to relevant business communications.

Inquiry data is deleted when the matter has been conclusively resolved and no contractual or statutory retention requirement applies. If the communication becomes part of a business relationship, it may be retained for the applicable commercial and tax retention periods.

4. External fonts and content-delivery networks

To display fonts and interface styles, this website currently requests resources from Google Fonts, jsDelivr, and cdnjs. When your browser loads these resources, the respective provider receives technical request data such as your IP address, browser information, referring page, and request time. These requests are made to provide a consistent, efficient, and secure presentation of the website. The legal basis relied upon is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

  • Google Fonts is provided by Google. See the Google Privacy Policy.
  • Bootstrap is delivered through jsDelivr. See the jsDelivr Privacy Policy.
  • Font Awesome is delivered through cdnjs, a service provided by Cloudflare. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

These providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Their privacy information describes the safeguards and transfer mechanisms they use. Self-hosting these resources would avoid the corresponding browser requests to third parties.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

This website currently does not use analytics, advertising trackers, or non-essential cookies. If such technology is added later, this policy and any required consent mechanism will be updated before it is activated.

6. Recipients

Personal data may be processed by service providers that support website hosting, email delivery, and technical operation. Data is otherwise disclosed only when required by law, necessary to establish or defend legal claims, or expressly requested by you.

7. Your rights

Subject to the statutory requirements, you have the right to:

  • request access to your personal data;
  • request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • request erasure or restriction of processing;
  • receive data you provided in a portable format;
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests; and
  • withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent data-protection supervisory authority. To exercise your rights, contact mail@svenpetersen.net.

8. Security and policy changes

Appropriate technical and organisational measures are used to protect personal data against accidental loss, unauthorised access, alteration, and disclosure. This policy may be updated when the website, its services, or the applicable legal requirements change. The date shown at the top identifies the current version.
